Gabriel, the Karamajoa ministry liaison, is building a house in which he and his fiancĂ© will live after they are married. We visited that property site today and toured the house via the brick and cement foundation. About the same size as Laura’s duplex, Gabriel has left room to add on in the future. Along with the house the property has about 20 feet in front and 10 feet behind of what could be considered “the yard.”
A house of the size common to most Ugandans costs about $3,500 to build. Gabriel ran out of money after laying most of the foundation. Just $15 would finish the foundation wall between the bathroom and the hallway. Please consider donating $15 and Gabriel can finish the foundation of his modest home. (Thank you to AS for the donation to pay for the foundation to Gabriel's home.)
To purchase the rest of the bricks costs $600. To purchase the cement needed for the bricks costs about $1000. From there trusses and the sheet iron roof are needed, not to mention the finish work. This sweet, Christian young man has been so instrumental to Mercy Uganda.
