Volunteering in a pregnancy center a few years ago, Laura connected with Veronica Nakyewe in Uganda during one of her early visits. Veronica is the founder of
The Comforter Center, a Ugandan pregnancy resource center . On behalf of The Comforter Center, Mercy Uganda raised the funds to purchase the land and some equipment for that center. Veronica also travels to the U.S. for various speaking engagements and conferences. Whenever possible the two ladies connect for mutual encouragement.
Today we stopped to visit Veronica at The Comforter Center. She and Laura behave like old friends, laughing and catching up. Veronica graciously spends some of her time speaking about women’s and children’s health issues in the remote villages of Uganda. Increasingly evident is the value of connections and relationships here in Uganda.
I gave some of the baby clothes donated from the garage saler to Veronica for distribution to her clients.
